Season 2011-12 Coaching Programmes...

Programmes are developed in 2 distinct sessions.

Session 1 aimed at beginners and improvers

  • Prepare to play 20 min
  • Technical 20 min
  • Tactical 20 min
  • Practical Games 45 min
  • Warm down 15 min
Session 2 aimed at players wishing to progress to club and league play. (Initially by invitation and discussion with Coach)
  • Court Movement
  • Core Development
  • Player centred technical/tactical elements

The above will form the basis of a skills development 10 week rolling programme, preceded by pre-season fitness assessments.

Week 1 is 13 August 2011

  • Week 1: Forehand & Backhand Serves
  • Week 2: Receiving & Return of Serve
  • Week 3: Net Strokes (Net Kills, Tumbles, Brush Strokes)
  • Week 4: Underarm Clears & Drives
  • Week 5: High Clears & Fast Clears
  • Week 6: Smashes & Replies
  • Week 7: Cuts, Clips & Drops
  • Week 8: Backhand Clears & Drops
  • Week 9: Tactics (Level, Mixed & Singles)
  • Week 10: Players Surgery (Player dedicated)
